Bay View House Celebrates a Successful First Year of Care and Community

Prestwick Care is celebrating the first anniversary of Bay View House, marking twelve months of providing high-quality care in one of Whitley Bay’s most recognisable landmark buildings.

Since opening following a £12 million refurbishment, Bay View House has become home to more than 30 residents and has built a reputation for combining exceptional care with luxury surroundings. The 86-bed care home offers residential care, nursing care and specialist dementia support, ensuring residents receive personalised care tailored to their individual needs.

The milestone was celebrated with a birthday party attended by residents, families and colleagues. Resident Valerie Brisbane, who was among the first people to move into the home when it opened, joined fellow residents in commemorating the occasion and helped cut the birthday cake. Guests were also treated to live entertainment from singer John Fletcher.

Located on Whitley Bay’s seafront, Bay View House offers a wide range of amenities designed to enhance residents’ wellbeing and quality of life.

These include a restaurant, cinema room, bar, hair salon, family rooms and comfortable communal lounges, alongside outdoor spaces and a secure rooftop terrace with stunning coastal views.

The anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on a successful first year and to thank the dedicated team members whose commitment and compassion have helped create a thriving community within the home.
