Helen Johnson
Home Manager
We’re delighted to welcome Helen to her new role as Home Manager at Bay View, where her extensive experience and passion for elderly care will be a tremendous asset to our new care home. Helen began her career in healthcare as a Healthcare Assistant in the NHS in 1979. She also worked as a Medical Records Clerk before completing her RGN training at Harrogate Hospital, qualifying as a Registered General Nurse in 1984. Since then, she has dedicated 33 years of her career to working in care of the elderly. Throughout her career, Helen has gained a wide range of clinical experience, including roles as a surgical relief nurse, a theatre nurse, and as the manager of the Kielder Unit at North Tyneside General Hospital which is a specialist unit for patients with delirium. With over 30 years of management experience, Helen has held various senior roles, ranging from Home Manager to Operations Manager. She has also worked as a trainer for overseas nurses, having gained her teaching qualification from Northumbria University. Helen has a deep passion for dementia care, driven not only by her professional background but also by personal experience. She understands first-hand the profound impact dementia can have on both residents and their families and is committed to improving the lives of those affected through compassionate, high-quality care.What We Offer
