Sue is a dedicated manager with 23 years of experience at Hillcrest Care Home. Her passion for providing high-quality care remains as strong as when she started as a Care Assistant. Through hard work and a genuine desire to make a difference, Sue has created a warm, homely, and inclusive environment where residents' needs and preferences are always prioritised. Her caring nature is felt throughout the home, and she continues to be a positive influence on the team. Sue is committed to learning and supporting her team’s development, believing that there is always room for growth. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting and has created a magical garden for residents to enjoy, as well as a reminiscing lounge for meaningful activities. Sue encourages family members to feel at home and offers support during difficult times. Her door is always open for a chat or a listening ear.What we offer

Hillcrest Care Home is located in the pretty historic town of Alnwick, within easy reach of local shops, public transport and the A1(M). The home offers Nursing Care, Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care. Built in the 1800s as a family home for a wealthy brewing family, the Georgian grandeur of this impressive building has been added to and modernised over the years, having served as a local maternity hospital in the 1950s and gaining a modern extension in the 1990s.
The home offers 50 bedrooms, 38 of which have their own en-suite bathroom, fitted furniture, interactive alarm system and mechanised bed. Assisted bath / shower rooms help aid the residents’ quality of life.
As a specialist dementia residential / nursing care service, we pay particular attention to creating a friendly environment and supporting the residents’ desire for independence with clear orientation signage and hand rails.
Internet access is available throughout as well as multi lift facilities. Lounges and dining areas are extremely spacious and dementia friendly, with breakout areas as well as private quiet rooms for residents and families.
