Built on the site of the former Northumberland Records Office, Melton House provides for residents with residential, general nursing, dementia and dementia nursing needs. The home has been designed to cater for all of our residents’ individual needs, with care delivered in a manner that supports their individual privacy and dignity.

Each of our spacious bedrooms include full en-suite facilities, and are also equipped with specialist beds, high quality bespoke fitted furniture, LCD televisions, and free and unlimited internet access. For the well-being of our residents we have included within each bedroom the emergency Telecare call system, together with state of the art lighting to ease movement within the room at any time of the day. We also believe in giving each resident plenty of scope to make their room look and feel as their own, and in doing so help them to make Melton House their home.

Our larger Premier bedrooms offer unrivalled views across the racecourse and of the famous Brandling House Stand beyond which on the many race days during the year is filled with lively and excited race goers eager for a full programme of racing action.

There are also plenty of open and spacious communal areas on each floor for use by residents and their families including TV lounges, dining rooms, activity and games rooms, cinema room, as well as quiet rooms for reading and relaxing. The home also includes a hair dressing salon.

Residents and their families can make full use of our secure and landscaped sensory garden providing full wheelchair access and seating areas, as well as the enclosed roof top garden which provides spectacular views of both the racecourse and golf course directly adjoining the home.

Activity programmes are a cornerstone of our holistic approach to care, and the home’s own activities co-ordinator ensures that there is always a full and varied programme of activities to help support the resident’s lives within a fun and homely environment.

Our menus are carefully planned to ensure we provide meals that are home cooked, sourced from local fresh ingredients, nutritionally balanced and varied, whilst always offering choice.

Social care is our highest priority. Our focus is on providing an engaging, stimulating, friendly and safe environment. Melton House has been designed with inspiration from Stirling University who are renowned experts in the field of social care and dementia.

Our team of staff are the key to delivering these highest standards of care at Melton House. As a care group we encourage and support the personal and professional development of our staff to equip them with the skills required to deliver the best levels of personal centred care to cater for each resident’s needs. The Group’s full time Training Manager ensures each member of staff completes the necessary standards and qualifications required to help deliver this.
