Wendy has been a registered mental health nurse for 23 years with a background in acute mental health in psychiatry. For the last 11 years, she has managed services that specialize in young mental health with challenging behaviours, acquired brain injury, young and elderly dementia services and developed a supportive living service. Wendy has experience throughout her management career maintaining the homes top-grading status with CQC and local authority and bringing failed homes back up to standard. She has also had experience as an operation support manager for over 2 years, where she supported 13 homes with operational duties. Wendy is a proactive and enthusiastic individual who has extensive experience and knowledge in leading and motivating teams to excel within challenging economic environments. She is able to plan and initiate new ideas and implement innovative approaches that transform services and has developed strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. She holds a manager’s qualifications (RMA) and is also working towards the Level 5 leadership and management award. Wendy holds the D32/33 and V1 internal verification qualifications and has just completed the Care Certificate Assessor Award.

    Our House Keepers pay particular attention to Health and Hygiene of all residents at Parklands Nursing Home. Our qualified Chef provides a varied and exciting menu to incorporate choice and special preferences.

    We have a purpose built kitchen and laundry facilities, hairdressing room and treatment room. All our exits are secure. You can use any area of the home at any time. The grounds are maintained and are accessible to wheelchairs.

    We put a lot of emphasis on the social side of our residents lives and we provide an activities programme which will take into consideration all of our residents’ views and choices.
